Indian Telecom Operators are required to report subscriber and adjusted gross revenue information to the telecom regulator TRAI, which publishes with the subscriber data monthly, and the adjusted gross revenue data quarterly. Importantly, this information is made available according to circle. India has 23 telecom circles.

This visual allows you to compare circles for each telecom operator, helping you identify the best performing circles for each operator , in terms of revenue and subscribers, in a single glance.

Sample Trends:
- Bharti Airtel generates a gross revenue of  581.70 million in Bihar having a subscriber base of 15.13 million, while Karnataka with 14.57 million. subscribers, generates a gross revenue of Rs 817 million.
-  Uninor has met with large acceptance in U.P East where it has scored well in terms of revenue per subscriber.
- Aircel is heavily dependant on the Tamil Nadu Circle in terms of subscribers as well as revenues.
- Interestingly BSNL generates the maximum revenue from the West Bengal circle having a subscriber base of 3.32 million.
Assumptions:

  • While the revenue numbers for Reliance Telecom and Reliance Communications Ltd. are reported separately, the subscriber information does not follow this separation and is reported as one single figure. For the certain circles, where this difference appears, we have combined the revenue numbers to match the subscriber base. In effect, we see them under “Reliance” as a group of both these subsidiaries
  • Aircel, BSNL and Vodafone are the only operators, who report the revenue information for Chennai circle separately and adds the subscriber information under the Tamil Nadu circle. We have combined these number to provide sanctity to the data and added, Chennai revenues to that of Tamil Nadu
